exchange also deepened Jazz Director Antonio García’s friendship with the
founder of UKZN’s (then-UND’s) jazz program, pianist Darius Brubeck, which led
to García’s serving on the advisory board of The Brubeck Institute (now the Brubeck Living Legacy, itself dedicated in part to social
justice). During that time he was able to visit the Brubeck Archives.
